sing!

I was in a hurry the other day...well almost everyday at some point, and I was trying to get Stella to be still so I could put on her shoes. I was getting a little frustrated and almost aggravated, when I remembered to SING! So, I started with a little tune, "Let's put your shoes on, shoes on, shoes on, let's put your shoes on right now." I kid you not, it was like a little magic spell came over her..she got a smile on her face, my heart felt happier and the most important thing, at the moment, was that we got those shoes on!!

Some interesting facts about singing:

  • Music and language are entwined...so sounds help babies build memory skills and learn vocabulary

  • repetition and rhyming help improve cognitive skills and language ability

  • songs and music let children practice sequencing, words and phrases
the best part: you can carry them anywhere!

make it easy: sing
make it hard: sing

Happy Singing!! :)
